It is the passenger's responsibility to re-confirm on the night before travel between 18:00 - 19:00. Failure to do so may result in miscommunication and failure to fly, forfeiting your booking altogether. ● Wine Tour
Please be advised you are required to contact The Wine Tour company 24 hours prior to the travel date during business hours to reconfirm your booking, pick up location and time, and departure time with your confirmation number. Please adjust your travel plan according to the details given by The Wine Tour company at time of reconfirming.
Check-in requirements Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the pick-up time at your booked pick up location. There might be 5-10 minutes delay depends on the traffic on the day. If you think the pick is late or you are not being picked up, please call The Service Provider and quote your confirmation number to double check.
What to bring/wear ● Valid Proof of Age (ie. Passport, Australia Driver's Licence)for consumption of alcohol at wineries

● Wear clothes suitable for hiking. It is an active morning in the outdoors, so do wear clothes that can get stained or dirty.

● Closed toe, sturdy shoes shoes are COMPULSORY. DO NOT WEAR high-heeled shoes, thongs/flip flops or open-toe shoes.

● Warm socks. Your feet can get wet and cold in the early morning dew, you may like to bring a change of socks.

● Hat and sunglasses (The burners radiate heat, wearing a hat is recommended)

● Layered clothing. The experience meet before sunrise so depending on the time of year and weather, it can be extremely cold. You can always take off your jumper/ jacket in the basket if you need to. Generally it will not be any colder in the air during the balloon flight than on the ground.

*Please note: The balloon burners sometimes drip water mixed with Carbon. The Service Provider will not be responsible for clothing that is stained or damaged as a result of the adventure activity.

● Minimum child age for this tour is 7 years. Two paying adults can take one paying child on the tour. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 years are welcome to fly accompanied by a parent or guardian.

● Personal belongings taken on board are at your own risk.

● Smoking is not permitted on vehicles, balloons, or inside winery buildings

【Balloon Flight】
● No flammable items or dangerous goods allowed to bring on board.

● Hot air ballooning is a weather dependent activity which means the flight is not guaranteed to proceed every day. You MUST check your flight details the night before your flight to find out if the flight is proceeding and the pickup time.

●  Check with your medical practitioner if you have a pre-existing medical condition (including but not limited to pregnant) that may be affected by the physical nature of hot air ballooning. You agree to indemnify the Service Provider, its owners, officers and employees against any incident related to your health occurring during or after supply of the Services.

● If the flight is cancelled
- If your balloon flight is cancelled due to inclement weather, your winery tour will PROCEED as scheduled. Passengers are required
to make own arrangements to meet the service in the event of balloon flight cancellation. You can find their contact detail in your Voucher.

The Wine Tour company is unable to provide door to door hotel pickup or drop off. Your will need to make your own way to one of the following locations:

- Please contact the wine tour company from 08:00 on the day to confirm which pick up & drop off point you will be using, most importantly, the pick up time if the flight is cancelled.

- If your flight is cancelled and you fail to show for your winery tour a refund will not be issued for any reason.

● Between November to January there may be up to 2 hours gap between the balloon flight/breakfast and the wine tour. You can enjoy some free time close by the meeting point where you are dropped off by the flight.

● Valid photo ID must be presented to proof you are over 18 years when consuming alcohol at wineries

● It is against the law to sell or supply liquor to anyone under the age of 18 years old. Children who are under 18 years old will be served with soft drink.

● Persons causing a nuisance to other passengers may be removed from the vehicle. The Service Provider will not be liable for any expense incurred by the passengers should this occur. Uncontrollable and disruptive drunken behavior will not be tolerated. Wineries reserve the right to refuse service & entry. Disruptive persons will not be allowed on the bus. No alcohol or food is allowed on vehicles. No BYO food or drink is allowed in the wineries. Individuals are responsible for any damage inflicted on vehicles or at wineries.

2 Overview

One of Victoria's most spectacular winery regions, with outstanding vineyards and mountains, the Yarra Valley, a leisurely one-hour drive from Melbourne’s CBD. It is a natural amphitheatre, which makes it the perfect location for a ballooning tour: great views, native fauna and flora, excellent food and wine and stable weather. Let the breeze usher you along the corridors of grape vines and over the Yarra River as you lose yourself in the breathtaking views of mountains that surround the valley. This region has excellent locally grown food/wine and makes for a brilliant full day in the countryside!

About the Yarra Valley Balloons:
  • The balloons provide a 360 degree view, perfect for sightseeing wineries and countryside beauty within the Yarra Valley.
  • The baskets include cushioning around the inside for comfort as well as rope handles when in the landing position. 
  • The balloons are safe, comfortable and meet the standards of CASA.
  • Balloon sizes vary depending on the pilot flying and their license. Baskets can hold 10, 16 and up to 24 passengers. 
  • On any one day, the site can have up to 7 balloons fly at once. Some branded balloons include Zonzo Estate & Balgownie Estate.

Schedule For the Day

The entire experience lasts roughly 9-10 hours in total so usually completed between 17:00 - 17:30.

  • Night before your flight (anytime after 18:00): Check the flight information. Detailed proceedures will be provided on your voucher.
  • 1.5 hours before sunrise (time confirmed night before): Meet pilots and crew at designated time and venue; drive all passengers to launch site
  • Launch: Passengers assist with the set up/ inflation of the balloon
  • Sunrise: Flight for approximately 1 hour
  • Land: After about 1 hour, the pilot will land the balloon; passengers can assist to pack up the balloon
  • Breakfast: All passengers back to meeting point which is where breakfast is held
  • After Breakfast: you will be dropped off at Yering Station where the wine tour will pick you up at 10:40.
