2 Overview

Travel to the picturesque mountain retreat of Kuranda Village, just 25 kilometres northwest of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia. Kuranda is a vibrant little town surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest. Historic buildings from the village's past now house a variety of upmarket restaurants, cafes and bars. It is still laid back, but with a style and sophistication that sets it apart from other venues and attractions in Cairns.

Classic Kuranda Rainforest Full Day Tour Depart From Cairns

This full day adventure to Kuranda, located in World Heritage Rainforest, includes a visit to the award-winning Rainforestation Nature Park, take a tour on a historic World War II Army Duck, as well as cuddle a koala and feed a kangaroo in the Koala & Wildlife Park (any expenditures in Rainforestation are at own expense). Visit the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience including boomerang and spear throwing and traditional Aboriginal dances, and enjoy a Tropical lunch. The Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway will be part of the transfers.

Arrive Kuranda Railway Station

On arrival, will then transfer to Kuranda Village. Browse through the many shops and local markets, which offer a full range of local handicrafts, souvenirs and gifts.

Wander through Kuranda Village, the picturesque Village in the Rainforest. (Any other entries or expenditures in Kuranda Village are at own expense.)

Please be at the bus stop outside the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary to transfer to Rainformestation Nature Park

  • Koala & Wildlife Park.
    • Join a guided tour, and see crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies. You'll have the opportunity to have your photo taken cuddling a koala or holding a small crocodile (at own expense).

The 7.5km Skyrail journey takes 30 - 40 minutes, however there are two stations enroute recommended to spend time at: Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station.

During this 45 minute rainforest tour, your knowledgeable Duck Captain will identify and explain fascinating plants and wildlife as you pass by before splashing into the lake for a cruise with more wildlife to be seen.
