● RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SELF DRIVE BOAT HIRE
 1) Security Bond Conditions
The Hirers shall pay the Security Bond as a preauthorization / payment on credit card, Debit Card or Cash prior to the Start Date. The Hirers hereby agrees that they shall be held full responsible for any and all loss of or damage to the hire boat or equipment or motor or to others affected. The Hirers shall not operate the boat in a negligent manner nor navigate into prohibited or uninsured areas of Sydney Harbour. If the Hirers have caused damaged or loss this bond will be banked immediately and quotations sourced to rectify such damages and losses. In the absence of damage or loss, the Security Bond will be refunded within 2 business days.

 2) Damage / Marine Toilet / Cleaning
 - Any loss or damage to the yacht or equipment will be charged to your bond.
 - A charge of $250 will be charged if the toilet is blocked.
 - Please leave the yacht tidy with dishes done or there may be a cleaning fee.

 3) Booking Confirmation, Postponement and Weather Considerations
 - Unsafe weather: The Service Provider determines the suitability of conditions and the possibility of postponement on the day of the charter. There are no refunds available to the Hirer due to weather or other reasons.
 - Postponements: Any Postponements to the Hire approved by the Service Provider (normally due to severe weather - winds over 30 knots) may incur a $120 surcharge paid by the Hirer.

 4) Hirer and Skippers Obligations
The Hirer agrees that the Skipper shall not exceed the prescribed alcohol limit of 0.5% at any time during the Hire Rental Period and observe the conditions shown on the Briefing Document. The Skipper shall be available for a Safety and Equipment Briefing prior to the Start Time and be asked to sign the Briefing Sheet upon completion.

● SKIPPER RESPONSIBILITIES
 - .05% Blood Alcohol Limit Applies for Skipper.
 - Navigating beyond boundaries vessel is not covered by insurance policy.
 - Max persons (note child or baby counts as a person) is eight (8)
 - No black soled shoes – damages fibre glass
 - No scuba diving off vessel
 - No towing other vessels or persons
 - Recovery cost of $250 for rescue
 - Drive at walking speed inside bays and speed restricted areas.
 - All persons inside cockpit when boat in motion
 - No bow riding, no persons on roof/ marlin board
 - No docking on fixed wharves – eg. Shark/Clark island
 - No mooring alongside other boats or structures
 - Vessels draft - 2 metres.  Do not beach the boat

● CHARTER CONDITIONS LIMITS
Northwards and Eastwards to beyond Watsons Bay and Georges Head ( the white lighthouses); West past Gladesville Bridge or Lane Cove River boundary; Into Circular Quay.

 - When ferries cross ahead go behind them, not in front.
 - If any vessel is overtaking you hold your course if possible.
 - Avoid collision at all times. Keep clear of shipping lanes.

2 Overview

Enjoy a scenic sail past the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, or anchor in a quiet cove next to one of Sydney's beautiful sandy beaches.

Sydney Self Drive Boat Hire: Arvor 20 No License Required for up to 8 persons

 

Grab your family or friends, your picnic hamper and the fishing gear! Set off to explore the Harbour for a day or a weekend as the captain of your very own self drive motor boat.

 

All boats have a fishfinder, stereo, a fishing license and safety equipment. Ice and bait is available at Rose Bay at extra fee. The Self Drive Boat Hire range of boats are:

  • Smartliner 17 – licensed for 4 people. Day time use only.
  • Arvor 20 – licensed for 8 people. Day time use only.
  • Arvor 23 – licensed for 7 people, and is a little luxurious self drive motor boat. The boat is available for overnight charters and sleeps 5 in a double v-berth, a single quarter berth and a fold down dinette double berth. Aboard is an anchor winch, bow thruster, chart plotter, fridge, gas cooker, private bathroom with flushing toilet and deck shower.

 

Use the boat anywhere on Sydney Harbour but not past Watsons Bay.

 

Please note

  • Skippers need to have boating experience but do not need a boat license
  • You are not permitted to go to Middle Harbour or Manly unless you are licensed
  • Bond of $1,100 is payable prior to departure.

 

Hirers receive a comprehensive briefing at departure.
