2 Overview

Hutt Lagoon, also known as Pink Lake, is a rare and magical lake on the coastline of Western Australia. Pink Lake is a salt lake in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The lake is not always pink but the distinctive colour of the water changes as a result of green alga Dunaliella salina, halobacterium Halobacteria cutirubrum, and/or high concentration of brine prawn.

The Abrolhos Islands are known as "the last secret area of Western Australia" and are famous for their mystery, magnificence and purity. Every year only fishermen, their families, and a certain amount of tourists are able to visit the island, so this area is as pure as ever. Most notably, tourists are not allowed to stay overnight on the island. At the same time, this is one of the most suitable snorkeling paradise in the world because the coral reef is shallow and has not been damaged, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef. The water temperature is maintained at around 20-22 degrees all year round, so it is suitable for swimming and snorkeling at any time.

Fly past the spectacular coastal cliffs south of Kalbarri, the mouth of the Murchison River and the town of Kalbarri, following the River to Murchison House Station, and then direct to the Loop and the Z Bend gorges of the Murchison River. We follow the River south until it turns to the east towards its source many kilometres to the north east.
