How to get there ● By Car -
Parking is available at the nearby Pier Shopping Complex/Shangri-la hotel, located opposite the Reef Fleet Terminal. Hourly cost is from AUD $1.20 for indoor and outdoor parking. All day parking is also available near Trinity Wharf at approximately $3 per day. (Parking costs subject to change without notice)

Check-in requirements Please arrive at the ticket office 45 minutes prior to the departure time to exchange for ticket/boarding pass before proceeding to the boarding terminal. Regrettably, failure to arrive before this time will most likely be classified as no-show and result in forfeiting the booking and it cannot be refunded or transferred.

Other info ● The minimum age for Scuba Diving is 12 years.

● Certain medical conditions, medications and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional in-water activities. For advice, contact our office.

● After a single helmet dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.

● Diving can be a strenuous activity, please use caution and inform crew of any medical conditions.

● This activity is conducted by operators other than Great Adventures.

● With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to your ticket price. In such cases any charge will be collected on departure.

    • Glass Bottom Boat Tour as scheduled: Book your tour time onboard with the crew or visit the Information Counter on the island. Glass bottom boat tours depart from the bend in the jetty. OR Snorkelling Equipment: Your snorkelling equipment can be collected from the island Dive Shop. Snorkelling equipment includes mask, snorkel and fins. Buoyancy vests and optical masks are available for hire.
    • Self-guided Eco Island Walk booklet can be obtained from the Information Counter.
    • Swim and snorkel directly from the lifeguard patrolled beach or take a dip in the Day Visitor Swimming Pool.

Green Island Snorkelling

Snorkelling at Green Island, with its lifeguard patrolled beach, is a safe and exciting way to introduce yourself to the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel gear includes snorkel, mask and fins; prescriptions masks, flotation vests and Lycra suits are available for hire from the dive shop.  

 

Self Guided Green Island Eco Walk

Green Island is one of 300 coral cays on the Great Barrier Reef; it is the only coral cay to have a dense, shady vine-thicket rainforest. Green Island is home to over 120 species of plants, over 55 species of birds and a unique mixture of coastal and rainforest plants all within its 1.6km circumference.

 

Introductory Scuba Dive

Scuba diving is the best way to see the reef and no experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive. Our professional and experienced PADI instructors will guide you through every aspect of your dive, allowing you to have a relaxed, enjoyable experience.

Sessions for introductory divers, certified divers and boat snorkel trips are scheduled daily at 10:30, 13:00 and 14:30.

● If you cancel between 0 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.
