2 Overview

Explore the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula and the delightful seaside holiday township of Victor Harbor. Travel from the Adelaide plains up through the picturesque Adelaide Hills, known for its cool climate wines, German heritage, artisan foods, craft breweries, and beautiful landscapes.

Enjoy a morning tea break (at own expense) and a wander around Strathalbyn with its many antique stores, markets, bakeries, and cafes.  Pass through the Currency Creek wine region and journey to Goolwa for a brief tour around the wharf, barrage and beach areas.  Then it is onto Port Elliot with a view of the long, sandy beach at Horseshoe Bay and then it is onto Victor Harbor.

Victor Harbor is one of South Australia's most popular seaside towns and famous for its horse-drawn tram to Granite Island, whale-watching cruises and the South Australian Whale Centre. Free time is spent in Victor Harbor for a wander around the township, visit Granite Island.

Return to Adelaide via the popular wine region of McLaren Vale where a stop is made with free time for cellar door wine tasting and browsing the main street.

Victor Harbor

Victor Harbor is a quaint coastal town often known for it's quirky art gallery culture. Located perfectly on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Victor Harbor has long been a favourite holiday destination for South Australians. Enjoy the town's coastline with stunning view over the clear blue ocean, walk along the sandy beach or visit the neighbouring McLaren Vale wine region or national parks.

The Fleurieu has over 60 cellar door wineries from which to choose, many with restaurants, all offering the opportunity to taste some of Australia's best wines and fantastic regional cuisine. Quaint little roadside stalls or weekend markets sell fresh seasonal produce, testament to the prosperous Mediterranean climate that the region experiences.

Enjoy a delightful tour of South Australia's premier tourist region, the Fleurieu Peninsula. This tour begins with a picturesque coach ride through the Adelaide Hills to the historical Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn. Here you will stop for some free time and morning tea in High Street (own expense). Continue on to the paddle steamer town of Goolwa where you will have a brief tour of the town including the wharf, barrage and beach.

On your way to Victor Harbor cruise past the charming coastal town of Port Elliot including Horseshoe Bay and stop at Whale Lookout for a photo opportunity. Upon arrival at Victor Harbor, South Australia's most popular seaside village, wander through the main street, sampling the fresh local product.

After your 3 course lunch at the Hotel Victor, you may choose to explore Granite Island, where you'll find the Little Penguins and you might even catch a glimpse of a Southern Right Whale during the winter months. Your tour then continues to the wine making region of McLaren Vale, best known for producing outstanding Shiraz.

Wander the main street, sample the fresh local produce including the delicious cheeses at Blessed Cheese, taste some of the fine wines or grab a coffee at one of the many cafés. From here take a scenic drive through South Australia's southern metropolitan beaches of Port Noarlunga and Moana before returning to Adelaide.
