How to get there ● By Train -
A short walk from Town Hall or Wynyard stations. Head for King Street from Wynyard or Market Street from Town Hall and then walk west down the hill towards Darling Harbour.

● By Ferry -
Public ferry services to Darling Harbour depart from Circular Quay Wharf 5 about every half an hour.

●By Light Rail -
Exit the light rail from either the Convention Centre or Pyrmont Bay stations.

Check-in requirements Please ensure you arrive at the attraction 30 minutes before your scheduled dive time to allow enough time to check in. Non-arrival or arrival after this time will result in non-admittance to the dive at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium's discretion, without refund. Missed dives will not be re-scheduled.

● Medical Conditions
If you suffer from or have suffered from any of the following medical conditions OR If you suffer from any other medical conditions, including recent injuries, surgeries or psychological conditions then you will be required to obtain a fully completed medical clearance from A QUALIFIED DIVE DOCTOR prior to booking in for the dive.

Scuba Diving is physically demanding and can be dangerous if you suffer from certain medical conditions. It is very important that you, the diver, do not suffer from any contraindications to diving.

Please make sure you read the full and up-to-date medical form (  before booking.

Failure to supply medical clearance from a certified Dive Doctor on the day will result in forfeiting your booking which is non-refundable

● Fitness Requirement
Scuba Diving is physically demanding, and divers must be able to lift and walk with approximately 35kg

● Non-English Speaking Divers
For health and safety reasons, all divers MUST be able to speak English. Non-English speakers are not allowed to dive with sharks

● No Drink and Dive
Do NOT drink alcohol from the night before (minimum 12 hours before the dive) until your dive is completed.

● No Dive and Fly
Do NOT fly in an aircraft within 12 hours after your dive.

● Swimming Ability
Divers must have a reasonable degree of swimming ability

● Child Policy
Divers must be 14 years of age and over. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years old)

● Personal Items
Divers are not permitted to take any other items; eg. Cameras, video cameras, knives, etc.; into the aquarium other than those supplied by SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. The use of personal items such as wet suits, go pros and other underwater equipment is not permitted.

Personal dive masks & wetsuits are the only items permitted in the aquarium.

● General Behavior
All Divers must obey the directions and instructions of SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium Dive Leaders, must not disturb other divers or interfere with the Dive Leader's ability to conduct the dive in a safe and secure manner and must not damage, deface or remove any part of the Oceanarium or any of the equipment being used. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium retains the right to remove from the dive any diver who does not comply with these terms, without refund.

● Animal Behavior
It is not possible to predict how the animals will behave for every dive, this experience cannot guarantee that a shark will approach every diver in the tank.

● SEA LIFE Sydney will refuse admittance to any person who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or behaving badly in an offensive or uncooperative manner, without refund.

Shark Dive Xtreme

Diving with sharks at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is an exhilarating experience, and one of only a few experiences worldwide where you're guaranteed an underwater encounter with sharks. Here at SEA LIFE Aquarium the colony of Grey Nurse Sharks range in size from 2.5 to 3.2 metres, and when you do your shark dive here, you get to enter their domain - without cages!

With NO PREVIOUS DIVING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, you'll not only meet Grey Nurse Sharks but also scuba dive with other Sydney local marine life including Port Jackson Sharks, Wobbegong Sharks and hundreds of amazing sea creatures!

Dives run up to 4 times per day with a maximum of 5 people per dive. Book early to avoid missing out!

  1. South Coast Shipwreck - Set amongst this beached shipwreck environment you can discover a vast array of animals native to the Southern Oceans. This zone is home to our incredibly popular colony of Little Penguins, who can be seen darting through the water and waddling across the beach while going about their very important little penguin business.

  2. Sydney Harbour - Here, among the stilted piers and platform decks you'll discover animals that are native to one of the most iconic harbours in the world. With over 600 species of fish inhabiting its depths, Sydney Harbour is a vital link in the ecology of the coastline and our themed zone provides a snapshot of what lies beneath - it's as beautiful as above the surface!

  3. Dugong Island - Home to our dugong, a beautiful animal which legend has it were mistaken for mermaids by early European sailors arriving in Australia's waters. Pig can be seen from above and in the viewing tunnels below. Dugong Island also hosts a range of other amazing animals, including White Spotted Eagle Rays, various shark species and dozens of species of fish.

Shark Valley - Face your fears on the Shark Walk and walk over some of the world's biggest aquarium sharks, including Grey Nurse Sharks, before journeying deep under the sea and exploring the depths of Shark Valley. When journeying through the parallel underwater tunnels you'll also come across our huge Queensland Groper - a fish even our sharks are scared of!
